I think that spiced nuts are one of the most dangerous things in the world.
First off, they’re a little chewy and a little crunchy, which are two serious weaknesses for me in the food-texture department.
Second, there is no possibility for portion control. You grab a handful, and depending on the size of your paw, you might have a quarter cup of nuts in there. But you aren’t going to stop at one handful, oh no. You’ll need at least three more.
Worst of all, spiced nuts are the PERFECT accompaniment to a cold beer or a whiskey sour. Suddenly this unassuming snack has you binge eating and three sheets to the wind. Like I said, these are a DANGEROUS snack.
But please don’t think I’m trying to discourage you from making Shutterbean’s sweet, savory, absolutely rockin’ Orange Spiced Cashews. Quite the contrary, I’m all about salty/sweet snacks and wild nights. I just wanted to give you a little warning first. You know, friend to friend.
